Do I need something like "red sand" in my fort? And if I don't have that kind of sand, can I not make glass? Queueing up sand/clay gathering, even if you don't have many bags this way will make sure that each time a bag is emptied, a dwarf will fill it as they become available. This is much more efficient than issuing the orders from the furnace. Clay gathering doesn't need bags.
