Both arcade games are very difficult to complete, it just takes practice to get better at them. I'm pretty sure it pauses time when you are playing, (as long as you are not playing co-op) so take as much time as you need to complete it. Don't try to get all the coins if it is too risky.

The extra lives you get on the secret level can make the difference when you get to the final level.
