_{Not quite ‘all the realms’. The Eastern Classic Era realms are divided into 3 Clusters: 2 PvP and 1 PvE. Realms within the same cluster are effectively merged. ALL Classic Era realms in North America are pooled together for Instanced PvP Battlegrounds. The east PvE cluster consists of Ashkandi, Mankrik, Pagle, Westfall, and Windseeker.Eastern are based in Chicago, you're probably closer to Chicago than LA where the western servers are. For what i calculated here, if you're in Edmond it's around 2.5k km to Chicago while to LA it's 3.2k km. So it does really makes a difference. The west coast servers are in LA, the east cost in Chicago.

I have even played wow NA from the middle of that Arctic Ocean and had no problems... NOW if you're in Cali and have Comcast well, that's a different story.If you're on windows, press win key, type in "cmd", press enter, type "ping 24.105.62.129" in the cmd window, it'll show you what ping you'll get to EST servers.
