I had a custom 16 lb 338 edge and it was extremely accurate. Then I picked up a Weatherby accumark 338-378 and ended up selling the edge. My accumark is just as accurate, weighs 11lbs scoped and with a 26 inch barrel will shoot a 300 gr bullet faster than the edge.I think the factor is how accurate the weatherby is that you get.The weatherby brass is better than the remington brass.A discussion thread about the two cartridges and their performance, accuracy and velocity. The Lapua needs gunsmith time to make it work in a 300 rum built action. the Lapua case is definitely stronger and can be loaded harder.
