Nike paionios

The original monument was set up in close proximity to the Temple of Zeus at Olympia by the Messenians and Naupaktians to commemorate the 425 BCE victory over Sparta at Pylos and Sphakteria and was mounted on a tall, triangular pillar. Cornell's cast of the Nike of Paionios was reassembled and conserved in winter 2014/2015.
