Before getting the demon scar I used a chaos infused hand axe, use what feels comfortable. I believe the moonlight gs scales well with int up to 40 and can be good at base str. Onyx blade is great, but if you aren't used to greatswords do what feels best. Up til the first boss I only used pyros and the chaos hand axe.
