The reason overkill is making Payday 3 is because of the insane technical limitations with the 32-bit diesel engine holding the game and franschise back. But with Payday 3, 64-bit unreal engine in theory could live on forever if it launches in a good state. No more (mostly) limitations on what overkill wants to do and add.
