Took it to the Ford dealer where I bought it and they replaced the torgue converter. Luckily it was covered by the 60K drive train warranty. The give away for me at least was the tacometer, watch the RPMs when it starts to shudder you will see the tac jump up and down by about 200 RPMs. Thats the lockup in the converter starting to slip.The max torque on the 1.5 liter engine is at about 4200 RPMS and should be holding well until most other revs. So judging the car at 1500 RPMs is a bit low and this "drag" is expected since the car is turbocharged.
